Leaves, cake and commenting

Leaves: The Diva's Weekly Challenge and It's A String Thing.
Cake: Joey's Weekly Tangle Challenge.
Comments: Preview is essential.

I worked on my challenges yesterday morning and went to work yesterday afternoon. When I got home I spent most of the evening completing one of the lists for my project and decided to alter it a little bit (maybe). I then spent time looking in on some of the blogs I follow and that took me into midnight. There are some lovely responses to the challenges offered this week and I commented on most of the ones I have looked at so far. There is a preview button for comments and I need to start using it. I sometimes hit the wrong key while typing and have noticed some very strange responses to my comments. I do apologize for that and will try to do better in the future.

I got sidetracked while doing the It's A String Thing challenge and have several attempts at doing that one. The Diva challenge has also evoked some distraction on my part. Joey's daughter is having a birthday this week, and she chose a string and tangle to use. I got to do two string thing challenges this week; which is a good thing as I don't often use strings. Speaking of strings, I have been playing with Helen Williams 'String Thing' all week. It is quite addictive. I am going to have to try it while actually sitting at my desk. I've been doing it while sitting on a sofa and watching TV. I am attempting to catch up on the Inchie and Twinchie challneges from earlier in the year. Not an easy task as some of the word prompts are difficult for me to visualize and represent in a small (medium or large) space. I will probably put some of my attempts in a separate post.

My Twinchie Tuesday: Circles

My entries for The Diva's Weekly Challenge

Tangles: Cat-Kin, Krli-Q, Knightsbridge
I used a maple leaf for the string.

I went out in my yard and found these leaves that I used to make the string for my second tile.

I didn't use the single maple leaf and ended up using only two leaves from the first scan.

Tangles: Meer, Oke, Strircles, Tipple

I used my Intense Pencils to create the background.

Joey's Weekly Tangle Challenge was to use String #12 and the tangle Cayke.

Tangles: Cayke, Jax, Wix, Paradox and a balloon

For It's A String Thing, Adele Bruno provided the string and the tangles to use were Oke and Meringue. I ended up making four tiles.

My favorites are the second one and the fourth one.

Finally, for Tackle It Tuesday we were to use tangles that begin with T,E,M

Tangles: Tearce, Eyelet & Ribbon, Meer

I love the way this tile turned out.

My String Thing play.

I'm still working on the second one.

I also went back and finished one of my attempts from The Diva's Challenge for last week.

Uncompleted

Heart's Dance

Sorry the post was so long, I had a lot of things to put up.

Loved your first leaf tile especially and I love the way that you finished up the duotangle - it worked out very well. You have definitely been very busy :)

  8. wow - what a lot of beautiful work. I like the use of Kurli-Q in the first leaf and striricles - is that spelled right? in the second. I think your tile for Joey\s challenge is fun - especially the green balloon. I like the last of your tiles for the sting thing challenge best - I'm really impressed with how you do meringue - I found it really difficult. well done all.
